The advertisements and promotions these days are consistently meant for one and only thing “NEVER ALLOW A CONSUMER TO THINK”. But as we all aware of, this is an unfair practice. Moreover all the product and services for which they produce these kinds of ads are from hands of big MNC’s and corporate companies or their subsidies in some other names. So the target is mass number of middle class peoples and well-known richer class.

The only aim is to fill in their cash-box at any cost weather ethical or not / human or inhuman. Their ultimate aim is make you believe that particular product is of good quality, which actually is NOT. This will not only mislead you to buy that but also lead to the crash of local producers of same product/services and latter on Monopoly of MNC, because of the fact, that helpless local producers can’t afford to promote their production with SRK or Amithabh/Aishwaria or MS Dhoni. Moreover the government will always back the MNC’s and their rich owners not the people below poverty line. Please keep in mind that the government act as if they are and will protect the interests of working class and poor people, foe which actually it is meant for. In the back they work for the owners to fill in their pockets and in many ways, like our water purifier (see My previous post) case. Here the Ads play a vital role in keeping people in anesthesian condition, so that they will not think and as a result agitate against them. In that way, they use the Ads as a powerful weapon against the mass. Also the way, the WOMEN used in ads are a condemnable one. Many women, who call them self as feminist doesn’t care about these, because they are also in side this pool.

Most of us don’t know that there is a regulatory system to monitor and control this kind of New-Consumer-Culture; in this culture the quality of product doesn’t play any role but their Promotion & Ads instead.

Advertising Standards Council of India is an org to do the above mentioned job, here you can complain about any ads providing a valid reason, and nature in affects your concerned. You can do it through the mail also.
